One of my biggest passions in education is outdoor ed. I've spent the last ten years working in Outdoor Education & Recreation Programming and still do part time! It's part of what inspired me to be a teacher. I find the impact nature has on children (and adults!) fascinating.

I've created a "challenge" this year as a way to push your limits and challenge you and your class to take learning outside and/or take care of our home this year for Earth Day. Some of the tasks on this list might be things you are already doing and some might be a bit outside your comfort zone...and that is OK!
I know that as an educator it's super easy to get wrapped up into curriculum and I'm a big believer that these things can still be accomplished when you take away the four walls of a classroom - and it may be the place you see some students who find the classroom a challenging place THRIVE!
Even if you tackle ONE of the things on this list this month - know you have done something for our home but also (hopefully) positively impacted the relationship between the students in your class and their relationship with nature and the outdoors.
As teachers, we are opportunity and experience-makers in so many capacities. Many students may lack access to green space and if that is an opportunity and experience I can provide within the school day - I will do it! And if I can convince ONE teacher to do the same? Even better.
So, you in? The freebie is on my TPT store.
Still not convinced? Watch this two minute video. I find it very impactful.
As a bonus, if by the end of the month you screenshot this list and tag me on Instagram @primaryjuniorpassions - the person with the highest "score" will get a $10 TPT gift card on me. Screenshots due by May 1!
Challenge. Accepted. You in?
*in the event of a tie, a draw will be made
